Welcome to the South Dakota Library Association's Surftips.  South Dakota library staff across the state are committed to providing you with an up-to-date resource on Internet Safety, family-safe Internet sites, safe sites for kids and teens, and links to legal information related to the Online Privacy Act as well as Internet protection.  We hope you will find these sites useful and informative, and welcome any comments/suggestions you might have.  For more information, please contact the SDLA Intellectual Freedom Committee or visit your local library.  We are here to serve you!

A cyber-neighborhood watch operating worldwide in cyberspace through more than 9,000 volunteers worldwide.  Provides educational information, help for victims of cybercrime and harassment, etc.

Teens on the Web

Welcome to the South Dakota Library Association's Surftips!  From chatting, surfing, and checking out information on the latest Harry Potter book, to doing research for a school assignment, the Internet provides you with millions of web sites.  There is no guarantee that the sites you visit will be safe, let alone high quality.  This site (created by some pretty hip librarians) provides you with Internet-Safe sites created just for teens.  We hope you will enjoy checking out these resources - let us know what you think, or if you have other Internet-safe sites you'd like to see listed here.  For more information on surfing the Internet, don't hesitate to talk with your parents, and visit your local public or school library.  We're here to serve you!
