The following databases and paper indexing and abstracting publications may be used to locate articles relevant to pharmacy in journals, magazines, conference proceedings, books, and other sources. Contact a librarian (688-5570 or 800-786-2038) for more information or if off-campus access is denied to a current SDSU student, faculty member, or staff member.

An interdisciplinary database offering abstracts and citations to a wide range of topics including biomedicine and biotechnology.
A database international in scope providing abstracts and citations to applied biology and human and environmental health.
Chmoogle is a free open access chemistry search engine searchable by common or chemical name and by compound. Features ability tools to draw molecules and compounds. Retrieves results from the Internet, chemical suppliers, and academic researchers.
A comprehensive database providing citations and full text articles to nursing journals and primary resources in applied health sciences.
A source of reliable, timely information regarding the effects of interventions in health care.
Directory of Open Access Journals
Provides full text access online to articles in journals in a variety of disciplines.
Dissertation
Abstracts International. (via FirstSearch)
This resource provides a subject, title, and author guide to over 1.2 million
doctoral dissertations and masters theses written since 1861.
A database that includes peer reviewed journals, Academic Search Premier provides full text access to over 4,600 periodicals some as far back as 1975. Over 8,000 journals are indexed. Full text coverage includes a wide variety of disciplines: biology, chemistry, engineering, humanities physics, psychology, religion, sociology, to name a few.
Health and Psychosocial Instruments provides access to information on measurement instruments in the health fields, psychosocial sciences, organizational behavior, and library and information science. HAPI assists researchers in finding measures needed for research studies, grant proposals, client/patient assessment, class papers/projects, theses/dissertations, and program evaluation.
International Pharmaceutical Abstracts
A premiere bibliographic resource in pharmacy covering over 750 pharmaceutical, medical, and health related journals.
A full text resource providing access to medical news, medical journals and and abstracts of articles.
The National Library of Medicine bibliographic database provides citations to biomedical literature, research, practice, administration, policy issues and health services.
Micromedex- Available in the Pharmacy Department.
Provides full text access to 249 journals in pharmaceutical, medical and health related journals. Premier databases include EBM Reviews, Books@Ovid, YourJournals, and Health and Psychosocial Instruments.
An interdisciplinary database providing citations, abstracts, and full text articles on a wide variety of topics including applied health sciences.
A bibliographic database providing citations to literature in psychology and related disciplines including medicing, nursing, and pharmacology.
The U.S. National Library of Medicine's free digital archive of life sciences journal literature.
SciFinder Scholar
Available in the library on a dedicated workstation. (Main Level-Reference Area).
An indexing and abstracting resource on the international literature in sociology and related disciplines.
TOXLINE provides bibliographic citations and abstracts to information in all areas of toxicology, including chemicals and pharmaceuticals, pesticides, environmental pollutants, and mutagens and teratogens.
Multidisciplinary database of citations and abstracts from journal literature includes Social Science Citation Index, 2001-present and Science Citation Index Expanded, 1992-present.
