American Society of Civil Engineers--Provides information about society representing more than 133,000 civil engineers worldwide.

American Water Works Association--Provides information about conferences, education & training, careers, and events of interest.

ASCE Authors' Guidelines to Publishing--Provides guidelines for authors of journals, books, and reference publications.

Civil Engineering Virtual Library--Hosted by Georgia Tech providing links to commercial, educational, organizational and journal resources on the internet.  Also gives conference listings.

Engineering Research Guides - Civil and Environmental Engineering (Cornell Library)--Indexes to journals and conferences, full-text electronic resources, technical reports, and societies for the field of civil and environmental engineering.

The Internet for Civil Engineers--Information portal for civil engineering professionals and students, includes news, career center, and resource center.

Western Waters Digital Library--sample digital collections from Oregon State University, University of Oregon, University of Utah, University of Washington and Washington State University about the discovery, distribution and development of water resources—and the resulting impact on people and communities.

 

General Engineering Resources

NSSN: A National Resource For Global Standards -- Provides Title and document number indexing for over 250,000 standards from over 600 developers world wide. Basic service includes industry, international (ISO) and U.S. Government Standards. The basic service does not include industry, international, or U.S. Government Standards under development

SciCentral -- A well-organized site offering access to all types of engineering resources. Includes a search engine.

Science Accelerator -- Searches R&D results, project descriptions, accomplishments, and more, via resources made available by the Office of Scientific and Technical Information (OSTI), U.S. Department of Energy.

Science: Engineering (Yahoo) -- A well-organized place to browse, Yahoo relies on Internet sites voluntarily listing themselves with their service, though they also seek out sites on their own. Some (but not all) resources are annotated.
