Use these resources to locate government information that is available both in Hilton M. Briggs Library and electronically via the Internet.

 

FirstGov - Information portal for the US Federal Government. Intended to be a starting point for finding government information on the Internet.

GPO Access - Search and retrieve congressional information from the US Government Printing Office, with mirror, or Gateway, sites at over 20 universities, each with their own strengths.

LexisNexis Congressional - Comprehensive access to U.S. legislative information from Congressional Information Service, Inc.

LexisNexis Statistical - Comprehensive access to statistical information from Congressional Information Service, Inc.

MarciveWeb DOCS - Search for U.S. Government Publications from July 1976 to the present.

In addition, the following library databases include citations to a significant number of  government publications:

AGRICOLA - Database of citations to articles relating to agricultural  topics. From the National Agricultural Library.

Child Abuse, Child Welfare & Adoption 

ERIC - Index to literature relating to educational research and practice.

Fish & Fisheries Worldwide - Databases covering all aspects of ichthyology, fisheries, and related aspects of aquaculture. 

GEOBASE - Worldwide literature on geography, geology, and ecology

Medline - Database of citations to articles relating to medical topics. From the National Library of Medicine.

National Criminal Justice Reference Service  (NCJRS) Abstracts Database - Subject areas include corrections, courts, drugs and crime, law enforcement, juvenile justice, crime statistics, domestic preparedness, and victims of crime. 

Wildlife & Ecology Studies Worldwide - The world’s largest index to literature on wild mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians. All aspects of wildlife and wildlife management are covered in this comprehensive volume
