The following databases and paper indexing and abstracting publications may be used to locate articles relevant to aviation / aeronautics in journals, magazines, conference proceedings, books, and other sources.  Contact a librarian (605-688-5570 or 800-786-2038) for more information or if off-campus access is denied to a current SDSU student, faculty or staff member.

ERIC. The premier national database of educational literature from 1966 to 2004.

Current ContentsCovers Agriculture, Biology, and Environmental Sciences, Arts & Humanities, Clinical Medicine, Engineering, Computing & Technology, Life Sciences, Physical, Chemical and Earth Sciences, Social & Behavioral Sciences. Contains the tables of contents and abstracts of articles from thousands of journals.  

Ei Compendex Web.
The world's premiere engineering abstracts database. Sources include journals, conference proceedings, and technical reports in all areas of engineering. Older paper volumes of this resource are shelved as Engineering Index on the main floor at Abstracts 620.5 .En332.

EBSCOhost This system of databases covers a broad array of disciplines and topics including aeronautics.  Many full-text articles are available via the system.

INSPEC. INSPEC, from the Institute of Electrical Engineers (IEE), is the world's leading abstracts database covering the literature of physics, electronics and electrical engineering, and computer fields. Also available on WinSPIRS workstations on the SDSU (Brookings) campus.

LEXIS-NEXIS Academic.  This database provides online access to full-text federal, state and international legal materials, as well as full-text and bibliographic information from newspapers, news and business magazines, newsletters, wire services, broadcast transcripts, and biographical sources.  Includes many international news sources.

ProQuest.  This resource provides access to several different bibliographic and full-text databases covering a wide variety of disciplines and topics, including the humanities, international studies, law, multiculturalism and the social sciences.
