Requesting Distance Library Materials
Other Resources: Information Literacy and Research Guide SDSU Continuing and Extended Education
|
Although Briggs Library has an extensive online periodical collection and a number of electronic book collections, you may identify items that are not available online during your research. No worries! Request Document Delivery through Distance Library Services. Request forms are linked from the library home page (http://lib.sdstate.edu) on the left side of the page. It is advisable to first request an SDSU Student ID through Campus Card Services. A student ID is necessary to check out books from Briggs Library and to request Interlibrary Loan materials. For articles, books and other materials not available online or through your local library, logon to ILLiad and request them. Your Library ID number is located on the back of your student ID card. If you do not have a student ID, submit a request by clicking on the link within this form. When submitting a request for Distance Library Materials, be aware that it takes time to process and deliver materials to you via e-mail or delivery and postal services. Our staff attempts to process requests within 48 hours. However, this service is not staffed weekends and holidays. If a requested item needs to be ordered through Interlibrary Loan from another library, the process may take from a week to ten days. Start your research early! Many of our databases have an Interlibrary Loan Request button if the article is not full text in that particular database. Before submitting the loan request, be sure to check the Magazines & Journals List for the title of the source or periodical (i.e. New York Times). If the periodical is available full text through another database, click the database link to retrieve the article. More Information:
