Background
The building site was selected May 1, 1952 and
this site was approved by the Building and Grounds Planning
Committee of SDSU March 17, 1959. The 1959 State Legislature
appropriated $800,000 for the building. The Dairy Microbiology
Building has a total area of 41,570 square feet of floor space. It
is basically a three-story structure of masonry and steel, with a
one-story auditorium-type lecture room with 215 seats. In addition
to the lecture room there are classrooms for general use.
