Reproduction Policy |

Photocopying from the archive’s holdings will be allowed depending on the condition and size of the items. All photocopying will be done in the reading room, at regular rates (see Fee Schedule). Patrons may be asked to pay for their copies before receiving services. Staff will provide handling and photocopying instructions to ensure that items are not damaged. The archives reserve the right to limit the size of photocopy requests. All scanning will be performed by Archives staff only. Researchers may use portable digital equipment (e.g., cameras, scan pens) to photograph images, manuscripts and books with permission from the University Archivist. Other equipment, such as a flatbed scanners, etc. is not allowed. Research and other service requests are welcome, subject to scheduling priorities due to limited resources. Photographic Images—Photographs, Negatives, Slides Reproduction of all photographic material is performed by Archives staff. Permission for the reproduction of photographs is on a one-time only, non-exclusive basis. If the reproduced photographic image(s) is intended for use in a publication, a “Permission to Publish or Quote Form” for must be filled out and signed by the user and the University Archivist. The proper credit line will be supplied and its use in all publications is required. Archives and Manuscripts Material—Paper Materials, Blueprints, Artifacts, Rare or Fragile Books. Photocopying from the archives and manuscript material will be allowed depending on the condition and size of the items. Multimedia Material—Audio Reels, Tapes and Cassettes, Video Tapes, Films, Microfilm, Etc. These materials will be listened to and/or viewed on the appropriate equipment located on the Main Level of the library in the Reference area. Films and videotapes for use in classroom presentation require permission of the University Archivist and the originating office, if applicable. In such cases an “Outgoing Loan Form” will need to be completed. The terms of the loan are subject to the rules found on the “Outgoing Loan Form.” Copies of films and videotapes may have to be obtained through another university department; rates for these services would be determined by that department.
