All users must sign the logbook.
First time users must fill out a “Research Registration Form” in
addition to signing in.
Researchers will be asked to
leave a photo ID (preferably a Driver’s License or SDSU ID) with
archives staff. The ID will be held until research is complete for
the day
All personal belongings, except
those needed for the taking of notes, must be stored on the coat
rack.
Pencils and notebook computers
may be used for note taking. No pens are allowed in the reading
room. Pencils are available from Archives & Special Collections
staff.
The materials in the room must
be handled with respect and care. Materials must be used with
supervision in the reading room, with the exception of videos or
other media which must be removed from the reading room for use.
Photocopying may be done only
with permission Archives & Special Collections reserves the right to
refuse photocopy requests if the material is fragile or may be
damaged by the photocopying process.
Note: The copyright law of
the United States (Title 17, U.S. Code) governs the making of
photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted materials. If
a user makes a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess
of “fair use,” that user may be liable for copyright
infringement.
Archives & Special Collections
staff will reshelve items. Please leave items on the table or
designated shelf.
Eating, drinking, and smoking
are not allowed in the reading room.
Researchers removing any
material from the Reading Room without approval may be referred to
the University Police Department for prosecution.
Archives & Special Collections
maintains records of patron visits to and research at the archives.

of 2001, Public Law 107-56.
