What is
Consult-a-Librarian?
Consult-a-Librarian is a
free, appointment-based, service provided by librarians at
Briggs Library to help members of the SDSU community learn
to fulfill their information needs.
Consult-a-Librarian will
help you:

Determine which library
databases, indexes, or reference books would be the most
useful for information about your topic.

Develop a search strategy for
specific databases.

Learn the ins and outs of
specific databases.
-
Raise your information
literacy level.
-
Create class assignments that
promote the use of library resources and foster
information literacy among students.

Learn when to use the
library, when to use the Internet.

Identify and locate relevant information from federal
government information publications and web pages.

Find out how to get free
materials from other libraries worldwide.
Who may use
Consult-a-Librarian?
This
service is open to all members of the SDSU community,
including undergraduate and graduate students, faculty
members, administrators, and staff members.
To
request this service:
Please
request an appointment at least 48 hours prior to the
desired appointment date/time.
Consult-a-Librarian provides consultation, advice, and
individual instruction regarding information needs and
library/information literacy. Our goal is to help enhance
your ability to fulfill your information needs.
