How To Check Out Reserve Material
-
Library users must show their own valid SDSU ID card or library card
at the Circulation/Reserve counter in Briggs Library.
-
Search on any Library Catalog using the Course Reserves tab to get the Reserve
call number of the desired item(s).
-
Six items may be checked out at one time.
-
No holds may be placed on reserve items. They are available on a
first come first served basis.
Loan Periods
-
Two Hour & Four Hour Reserves: May not leave the library
-
Two Hour-Overnight Reserves: Check out for two hours for use in the library
when the library is open. May be checked out one hour before closing to
be taken out of the library overnight and are due the following morning
one hour after the library opens.
-
Three Day & One Week Reserves: Are due as marked.
-
Because reserve items are in high demand they cannot be renewed.
Returning Reserve Items
- Materials must be returned to the Circulation/Reserve counter.
Overdue Fines for Reserve Items
- Two hour, two hour/overnight, and four hour reserve items - 25
cents per hour per item. If these items are
returned when the library is not open, the fines continue to
accrue on our computer until the library opens and the items are
checked in.
- Three day and one week
reserve items – $1.00 per day per item.
- Reserve materials should not
be returned to the outdoor book drop.
Overdue reserve items returned to the outdoor book drop will
accrue fines until they are retrieved and discharged by
library staff. The outdoor book drop is
normally emptied once at the beginning of each workday.
- The maximum overdue fine
(not including replacement cost) is $30.00 per item.
