Interlibrary Loan Copyright
Policies and Procedures
For the most part these are for journal articles,
chapters from books, or articles within a collected work (e.g. Source
Readings in Music History).
-
CCG criteria
(Copyright Compliance - Guidelines)
-
Starts
over every January 1
-
Works
published within the last 5 years
-
The first five
articles from a journal title published in the above years fall under
copyright guidelines, after this royalty fees must be paid
-
The first article
per issue (not volume) of a journal (or chapter/article from a book) falls
under copyright guidelines, after this royalty fees must be paid
-
If a patron
sends 2 requests from the same issue, one will fall under the copyright
guidelines and the library will pay for the other. Write 1st art on one
and 2nd art on the other. The 2nd article would be listed as CCC.
-
If a patron sends 3
or more requests from the same issue, we can try to borrow the whole issue (BRI
will lend periodicals more than 6 months old) or send all the requests back
with the copyright letter telling the patron how much each article above the
two they get for free will cost.
-
Rule of thumb: 5115 (5
articles from 1 journal title in 1 year from the last 5 years)
-
CCL criteria (Copyright
