Child Welfare Information Gateway
A service of the Children's Bureau, Administration for
Children and Families, U.S. Department of Health and Human
Services that provides access to print and electronic
publications, websites and online databases covering a wide
range of topics including child welfare, child abuse,
neglect, adoption, search and reunion and much more.
CINAHL.
(Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature).
This bibliographic database covers over 1,175 nursing and
primary journals in more than a dozen allied health disciplines.
Current Contents.
Contains the tables of contents and abstracts of articles from
thousands of journals. Current Contents is available on
WebSPIRS.
Directory of Open Access Journals
Provides full text access online
to articles in journals in a variety of disciplines.
Dissertation Abstracts International.
This resource provides a subject, title, and author guide to
over 1.2 million doctoral dissertations and masters theses
written since 1861.
Current Research - SDSU- provides access to
the full text (pdf) of recent dissertations and theses
completed at SDSU.
EBSCO Academic Search Premier
A database that includes peer
reviewed journals, Academic Search Premier provides full text
access to over 4,600 periodicals some as far back as 1975. Over
8,000 journals are indexed. Full text coverage includes a wide
variety of disciplines: biology, chemistry, engineering,
humanities physics, psychology, religion, sociology, to name a
few.
ERIC via CSA
ERIC on the Web
The premier national database that provides indexing and
abstracts of educational literature from 1966 to the present. It
lists journal articles (EJs) and ERIC documents (EDs) including
research reports, project and technical reports, curriculum
guides, and more.
HaPI
Health and Psychosocial
Instruments provides access to information on measurement
instruments in the health fields, psychosocial sciences,
organizational behavior, and library and information science.
HAPI assists researchers in finding measures needed for research
studies, grant proposals, client/patient assessment, class
papers/projects, theses/dissertations, and program evaluation.
JSTOR.
Provides electronic full text/image access to the back issues of
more than 125 scholarly journals in many fields including
sociology and anthropology.

Comprehensive access to U.S. legislative information from
Congressional Information Service, Inc.
Lexis Nexis Statistical Universe.
An index to statistical data produced by the U.S. government;
important international intergovernmental organizations; and
knowledgeable professional and trade organizations, business
organizations, commercial publishers, independent research
organizations, state government agencies, and universities.
MarciveWeb DOCS.
Provides citations to United States government publications from
July 1976 to the present.
Medline.
This National Library of Medicine database is the the premier
bibliographic database for medical journal literature.
Ovid
Provides full text access to over
250 journals in pharmaceutical, medical and health related
journals. Premier databases include CINHAL, MedLine, EBM
Reviews, Books@Ovid, Journals@OvidFullText, and YourJournals@OvidFullText.
ProQuest.
ProQuest provides access to several different
bibliographic and full-text databases covering a wide variety of
disciplines and topics. The Social Sciences Module and the
Research Library Core are probably the most useful for
sociology. However other modules may be appropriate for certain
topics. Many full-text journal articles are provided.
PopLine through
Infoforhealth.org
Info For Health is the
knowledge sharing project for reproductive health from Johns
Hopkins Bloomberg School Public Health. The site includes
PopLine as well as other searchable databases. PopLine
is a searchable database for citations to reproductive
health periodical literature.
PsycINFO.
This American Psychological Association database covers journal
articles, book chapters, and book literature in psychology, as
well as psychological aspects of related disciplines, such as
sociology, education, anthropology, and others. It contains
citations with abstracts to journals, books, and book chapters
in psychology and the behavioral sciences.
Sociological Abstracts. (1963+, via CSA)
The Sociological Abstracts database indexes and provides
abstracts for journal articles from sociology and related
disciplines. In addition, it covers relevant association papers
and PhD and Master's theses. Older journal articles are also
covered in the paper Sociological Abstracts shelved on
the library's main floor in the Abstracts & Indexes area
(305.So15).
Social Services Abstracts. (1980+, via CSA)
Indexes the literature of social services from 1980 to the
present..
Web of Science
Multidisciplinary database of
citations and abstracts from journal literature includes
Social Science Citation Index, 2001-present and Science
