The following databases and paper indexing and abstracting publications may be used to locate articles relevant to psychology in journals, magazines, conference proceedings, books, and other sources.  E-mail the SDSU Librarians or call 688-5570 or 800-786-2038 for more information or if off-campus access is denied to a current SDSU student, faculty member, or staff member.

PsycINFO. (1840+, via EBSCOhost)
This American Psychological Association database covers journal articles, book chapters, and book literature in psychology, as well as psychological aspects of related disciplines, such as sociology, education, anthropology, and others. It contains citations with abstracts to journals, books, and book chapters in psychology and the behavioral sciences. 

Academic Search Premier. (EBSCOhost)
Academic Search Premier, designed specifically for academic institutions, is the world's largest scholarly, multi-disciplinary full text database containing full text for more than 4,600 scholarly publications, including more than 3,500 peer-reviewed publications. In addition to the full text, this database offers indexing and abstracts for all 8,040 journals in the collection. This scholarly collection offers information in nearly every area of academic study including: social sciences, humanities, education, computer sciences, engineering, physics, chemistry, language and linguistics, arts & literature, medical sciences, ethnic studies, and many more. 

Current Contents.
This multidisciplinary, current awareness resource provides indexing and tables of contents to over 6,000 journals covering a broad range of disciplines. Many clinical and social/behavioral journals are included in this database. 

SAGE Journals Collection 
Includes the full text journals published by SAGE and participating societies. Covers such subjects as Applied Psychology, Child Development, Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Cross-Cultural Psychology, Cultural Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Educational Psychology, Environmental Psychology, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Neuropsychology, School Psychology, and Social Psychology. Consists of searchable bibliographic records as well as the complete text of each journal article in PDF format.

Social Science Citation Index. 1992+, via Web of Science).
A multidisciplinary database covering 1,700 of the most significant social sciences journals in 50 disciplines. Older paper volumes, 1973-1976, 1985-1996, are shelved on the library's main floor in the Abstracts & Indexes area (016.3.So13). Access this CD-ROM database on a specific workstation in the reference area of the library.

AgeLine
This free database abstracts the literature of social gerontology as well as aging-related research from psychology, sociology, social work, economics, public policy, and the health sciences. AgeLine is produced by AARP’s Research Information Center.

ERIC (via the Educational Resources Information Center)
ERIC
(via CSA)
  The premier national database covering educational literature and related disciplines including educational psychology. Coverage extends from 1966 to the present. 

Google Scholar
Searches scholarly literature including journal articles, theses, books, preprints, abstracts, and technical reports from a  variety of academic publishers, professional societies, preprint repositories and universities.

HaPI (Health and Psychosocial Instruments) 1985 +
HaPI provides access to information on measurement instruments (i.e., questionnaires, interview schedules, checklists, index measures, coding schemes/ manuals, rating scales, projective techniques, vignettes/scenarios, tests) in the health fields, psychosocial sciences, organizational behavior, and library and information science.

Medline.
This National Library of Medicine database is the the premier bibliographic database covering medical journal literature including psychiatry. 

Sociological Abstracts. 1963+.
The Sociological Abstracts database indexes and provides abstracts for journal articles from sociology and related disciplines. In addition, it covers relevant association papers and PhD and Master's theses. Older journal articles are also covered in the paper Sociological Abstracts shelved on the library's main floor in the Abstracts & Indexes area (305.So15).

Ingenta.
A database indexing the contents of  thousands journals and magazines in a wide range of disciplines. Full text articles are available on a fee basis. 

Lexis-Nexis Academic Universe.
Provides online access to full-text and bibliographic information from newspapers, news and business magazines, newsletters, wire services, broadcast transcripts, and biographical sources. 

Dissertation Abstracts International.
This resource provides a subject, title, and author guide to over 1.2 million abstracts of doctoral dissertations and masters theses written since 1861.
