  • Agricultural Statistics. (Documents/Lower Level A 1.47: Latest edition at Information Desk)  An annual publication covering agricultural production, supplies, consumption, facilities, costs, and returns. Also available online at http://www.usda.gov/nass/pubs/agstats.htm
  • Agriculture & Veterinary Sciences International Who's Who. (Reference S415.A47 1994)  Provides biographical profiles of nearly 11,000 senior agricultural and veterinary scientists. Users can search by name, country, or subject.
  • The American Horticultural Society A-Z Encyclopedia of Garden Plants. (SB403.2.A45 1997) 15,000 entries for a wide range of plants for North American gardens.  Includes 6,000 color photographs.
  • CAB Thesaurus. (Z695.1.A4 T5, Latest edition at Information Desk)  Contains the terms used to index the databases AGRICOLA and CAB Abstracts. Each entry is followed by a list of broader, narrower, and related terms.
  • Crop Protection Reference: CPR. (SB950.9.C762, Latest edition in Reference)  This guide to pesticide information contains a list of product labels arranged by manufacturer then brand name for about 500 products. Gives contents, patent number, EPA registry number, and safety, storage, and application information. Free updates are provided at the web site greenbook.net.
  • Dictionary of Gardening. (SB450.95.D53 1992)  4 volume set providing concise descriptions of some 50,000 cultivated plants, with brief cultivation notes, botanic keys, lists of plant synonyms, about 4,000 black and white line drawings, and biographies of eminent horticulturalists.
  • Dictionary of Horticulture. (SB317.58.D53 1994)  Dictionary of 15,000 terms relating to gardening.  Definitions include scientific name, common name, family, genus, and species as well as hardiness and habitat information.
  • A Dictionary of Plant Pathology. (Reference SB728.H65 1989)Lists the authoritative names of plant pathogens, with definitions and brief descriptions of supporting references.
  • Encyclopedia of Agricultural Science. (Reference S411.E713 1994)  Includes articles from the broad subject areas of plant science, forest science, soil science, entomology, horticulture, natural resources, agricultural engineering, and agricultural economics, as well as entries on individual agronomic crops.
  • Encyclopedia of Soil Science. (Reference S592.E52 1979+)  Provides information on the nature and properties of soils, with an emphasis on soil physics, chemistry, biology, and fertility.
  • Field Crop Diseases Handbook. (SB731.N94 1989)  Covers approximately 1200 diseases of 25 different plants.
  • Plant Diseases of International Importance. (SB731.P67 1992 v. 1-4)  Plant pathologists examine the history, distribution, symptoms, etiology, epidemiology, cycles, and control of various plant diseases.
  • Weed Control Manual. (SB611.W44)  Published annually, this manual includes a weed hit list and identification guide, a suppliers directory, indexes, articles, charts, and information on current trends.
  • Weeds of Nebraska and the Great Plains. (Reference SB612.N2 S78 1995)  Arranged alphabetically by scientific name, each entry contains detailed botanical information and colored photographs.
