The following databases and paper indexing
and abstracting publications may be used to locate articles relevant to
mathematics in journals, magazines, conference proceedings, books, and other
sources.

member, or staff member.
MathSciNet.
1940+
This exhaustive resource provides reviews and bibliographic references for
much of the literature of mathematics. The database is created and maintained by
the American Mathematical Society. The print publication Mathematical Reviews is published monthly, with an annual cumulated author and
subject index issue, and is shelved on the library's main floor in the Abstracts
& Indexes area (510.5 M421). Entries are arranged by

Subject Classification.

Engineering
Village-Compendex. 1969+ The world's premiere engineering abstracts database. Sources include
journals, conference proceedings, and technical reports in all areas of
engineering.
JSTOR.
Provides electronic full text/image access to the back issues of
scholarly journals in many fields including mathematics.
SpringerLink.
Provides full-text
access to many scholarly journals in the field of mathematics.
Web of Science. 2001+
Provides access to Science Citation Index and Social Sciences Citation Index.

Databases, Periodical Indexes and Abstracts
Academic Search Premier
(EBSCOhost).
The largest academic multi-disciplinary database, Academic Search Premier
provides full text for more than 4,600 scholarly publications, including full
text for more than 3,500 peer-reviewed journals. Coverage spans virtually every
area of academic study and offers information dating as far back as 1975.

Contents.
This multidisciplinary, current awareness resource provides indexing and tables of contents to
over 7,000 journals covering a broad range of disciplines.
Dissertation
Abstracts International.
This resource provides a subject, title, and author guide to over 2
million doctoral dissertations and masters theses written since 1861.
General Science
Index. 1978-1998.
This resource covers popular magazines and basic scientific journals in several science
disciplines. Shelved on the library's main floor at Index 016.5 G286.
Ingenta.
A database indexing the contents of thousands of journals and magazines
in a wide range of disciplines. Full text articles are available on a fee basis.
Inspec.
INSPEC, from the Institute of Electrical Engineers (IEE), is the world's
leading abstracts database covering the literature of physics, electronics and
electrical engineering, telecommunications, computers, control technology and
information technology.
Jahrbuch
Project: Electronic Research Archives for Mathematics
The project provides a digital archive of the
most important mathematical publications of the period 1868-1942 and a database
based on the Jahrbuch über die Fortschritte der Mathematik."
Oxford Journals.
The Oxford Journals online collection includes over 170 titles. Some of the
subjects covered include: Life Sciences, Mathematics and Physical Sciences,
Medicine, Social Sciences, Humanities and Law.
ProQuest.
ProQuest allows access to many bibliographic and full-text databases.
The Sciences Module and the Research Library Core are perhaps of most relevance
for mathematics. However, other modules may be appropriate for certain
topics. Many of the journal articles are full-text.
Science Citation Index.
1992+ (via Web of Science).
This multidisciplinary database of citations and abstracts from journal
literature can be used as a conventional author-subject index, or it can be
searched by cited author or paper. Access this database via Web of Science
for citations from 1992 to the present. Prior years (1965-1990) are available in
paper shelved on the library's main floor in the Abstracts & Indexes area (016.5
.Sci27).
