  • Almanac of American Politics. (Reference JK1012 .A 44) This reference provides a listing of Senators, Representatives, and Governors from each state as well as their records and election results.
  • America Votes: A Handbook of Contemporary American Election Statistics. (Reference JK1967.A5)  This reference provides a listing of senators, representatives, and governors from each state as well as their records and election results.
  • American conservatism : an encyclopedia / edited by Bruce Frohnen, Jeremy Beer, and Jeffrey O. Nelson.  (Reference  E743 .A44 2006 ).  From "abortion" to "Zoll, Donald Atwell," the self described "sentimental monarchist" former political science professor, the 626 entries presented by the editors offer information on the persons, schools, concepts, organizations, events, publications, and other topics of importance to the nature of the postwar conservative intellectual movement in America.
  • American Treaties and Alliances.  (Reference KZ236 2000)
  • Assassinations and executions : an encyclopedia of political violence, 1900 through 2000.  (Reference HV6278 .L45 2002).
  • The Blackwell Dictionary of Political Science. (Reference JA61.B43 1999)  An introduction to the terminology of political science. Explains approximately 1,000 terms and includes short biographies of eminent writers in the discipline.
  • The citizen action encyclopedia : groups and movements that have changed America / Richard S. Halsey.  (Reference JS303.5 .H35 2002).  Provides basic information on the activities and significance of the people, organizations, and events that comprise the history of American citizen activism in the 20th century. Contains almost 300 cross-referenced entries and 50 illustrations and includes individuals, groups, and movements that achieved both national standing and significant success in altering the political, legal, social, or economic structure of the United States.
  • Clements' Encyclopedia of World Governments. (Reference JF37.C53)  This resource is a comprehensive source of current facts on countries of the world including charts and photographs.
  • Congress and the Nation. (Reference JK1021.C6c)  This series of reference books beginning in 1945 condenses legislative, presidential and political coverage from a domestic and international perspective.
  • Congressional Quarterly Weekly Report. (Info. Desk 328.73.C763)  This is a weekly magazine-style publication of government, politics, and public policy.
  • Congressional Quarterly Weekly Report: Guide to Current American Government. (Reference JK1.C14)  Articles on the current American government are found in this reference. Foundations of American government, political participation, government institutions, and political and public policy are included.
  • Congressional Quarterly's Washington Information Directory. (Info Desk F192.3 .W33)  Guide to key players and organizations in the nation's capital. Includes information on agencies, Congressional committees, non-profit groups, etc.
  • Congressional Roll Call. (Reference JK1.C6635) This is a chronology and analysis of votes in the House and Senate by each year.
  • The Dictionary of World Politics: A Reference Guide to Concepts, Ideas, and Institutions . (Reference JA61 .E85 1990)  This source provides a fairly in-depth explanation of political science concepts, ideas, and institutions.
  • Encyclopedia of American Activism: 1960 to the Present). (Reference JK1764.D53 1998)  Focuses on people, events, movements, organizations and issues associated with activist movements in late 20th century America.
  • Encyclopedia of American social movements / edited by Immanuel Ness ; foreword by Stephen Eric Bronner and Frances Fox Piven.  (Reference HN57 .E594 2004 ). A comprehensive range of social movements is treated in 16 broad categories, from civil rights and women to antiwar protests and global justice.
  • Encyclopedia of interest groups and lobbyists in the United States / Immanuel Ness. (Reference JK1118 .N47 2000).
  • Encyclopedia of modern ethnic conflicts / edited by Joseph R. Rudolph, Jr.. (Reference GN496 .E56 2003).  Features 38 ethnic conflicts from Bolivia to Yugoslavia-- including US struggles with its native population and Puerto Rico. Each case study features a timeline; historical background; summary of the conflict, its management, and significance; and suggested reading. Includes maps, b&w photos, and an appendix of contents by world region.
  • Encyclopedia of politics : the left and the right / Rodney P. Carlisle, general editor. (Reference JA61 .E54 2005 ). Contains articles on the people, ideas, events, laws, and issues associated with left and right politics in language that is accessible to everyone. Each entry includes cross-references and a bibliography. Entries are included in each volume for 40 countries and regions, giving the history and current affairs for politics in each.
  • Information sources of political science / Stephen W. Green and Douglas J. Ernest, editors. (Reference Z7161 .H64 2005 ).  Covers print and electronic materials published in English, primarily in the US and UK. Chapters are arranged by reference format (dictionary, bibliography, encyclopedia, etc.), then alphabetically by title.
  • International Yearbook and Statesmen's Who's Who. (Reference JA51 .F57)  This volume provides information on international organizations like the United Nations and other nations including demographics, trade, natural resources, and holidays.
  • Local and regional government information : how to find it, how to use it / edited by Mary Martin.  (Reference JK2408 .L62 2005).
  • National party conventions, 1831-2000.  (Reference JK2255 .N373 2001).
  • Political Handbook of the World . (Reference JF37 .P63)  This reference tool provides information on every country in the world including their heads of state, cabinet members.
  • Political Science : A Guide to Reference and Information Sources . (Reference JA71 .Y67 1990) This guide lists general reference sources in a variety of social science disciplines including political science, sociology, history, and geography.
  • Speeches of the American presidents / edited by Janet Podell, Steven Anzovin. (Reference J81.4 .S64 2001 ).
  • Statesman's Yearbook. (Reference JA51 .S76)  This annual publication provides political, economic and statistical information on each country.
  • Statistical Abstract of the United States. (Info Desk Doc C3.134)  Published since 1878, this source includes statistics on the social, political, and economic organizations of the United States.
  • Survey of Social Science: Government and Politics Series. (Reference JA61.S88) This five-volume set includes articles on major topics in government and politics with annotated bibliographies.
  • Taylor's Encyclopedia Of Government Officials, Federal and State . (Reference JK6 .T36)  Federal government officials including U.S. Senators and Representatives and ambassadors as well as information on individual states. An appendix including founding documents like the Constitution and histories of the two major political parties and the presidency.  This encyclopedia has a complementary online service.  To access, go to: http://www.politicalresearch.com.   • UN Statistical Yearbook. (Reference HA12.5 .U55S) Compiled by the United Nations, this publication covers international statistics on agriculture, population, finance, trade, manufacturing, and social issues.
  • UN Yearbook . (Reference JX1977 .A37Y4) This volume provides an in-depth explanation of UN activities around the world.
  • The uniting states : the story of statehood for the fifty United States / edited by Benjamin F. Shearer. (Reference JK2408 .U65 2004).  The stories of each of the 50 states, with emphasis on their earliest years and the processes by which they achieved statehood. Provides a concise introductory history of the United States highlighting the formation of the states and the struggle for control of territories by world powers.
  • Who's Who in American Politics . (Reference E176 .W45) A listing of leaders in the Federal government and by state including senators, representatives, and judges. It includes photographs of US politicians and leaders.
  • The World Factbook. (Info Desk Doc PrEx3.15) This government publication provides basic factual information on countries including geography, people, government, economy, and more.  Also available online via CIAO. (On the main CIAO page, click MAPS AND COUNTRY DATA.)
