South Dakota State University Archives
& Hilton M. Briggs Library Special Collections

* * * * * NOTICE * * * * *

The University Archives and Special Collections will have limited services during the next few months due to remodeling scheduled to begin over the holiday break in December 2009.

In preparation for the remodeling, materials housed in Archives & Special Collections will be relocated to various temporary storage locations beginning November 1, 2009. This will include the University and Manuscript collections housed in the Archives as well the book collections (SD Collection and Rare Books).

Services covering reference and access to archival collections will be limited. The Archives staff will try to accommodate patrons as best they can.  In order to accommodate you we ask that requests for material be made in advance.  Retrieval may take as long as a week.

Access to the SD Collection will be limited as well. The best way to locate items in this collection will be to search the online catalog. Patrons can make book requests by presenting a call number to Archives staff. Requests to browse the collection will be made on a case-by-case basis. You will be asked to view material in a supervised area.

Researchers with questions or requests should contact Stephen Van Buren, 605-688-4906.
