Briggs Library contains eight group-study rooms.  These rooms are intended for use by groups of three or more for discussions, presentations, and study related to SDSU classes or curriculum, administration, or organizations.

Advance Reservations Permitted

Room 126 (8+ people, main level, northwest corner)

Room 128 (8+ people, main level, northwest corner)

Room 127 (12+ people, main level, northwest corner)
Room 011 (8+ people, lower level, southwest corner)

  • Reserve these rooms during regular library hours in person at the Circulation Desk or by contacting a Circulation staff member at 688-5107.

  • For occasional use, they may be reserved during any hours the library is open.

  • Regular, semester-long, SDSU classes may be scheduled in these rooms Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m.  SDSU organizations may schedule regular (recurring) meetings in these rooms Monday through Thursday from 5:00 p.m. through 10:00 p.m.

  • A room key must be checked out with a valid SDSU ID or Briggs Library Card at the Circulation Desk.

  • The room key must be returned to the Circulation Desk when the group is finished in the room or before four hours have elapsed from the time the key was checked out (whichever comes first).  Keys should never be given to another group or individual.  They must be returned to the Circulation Desk.

  • If a key is not returned to the Circulation Desk before four hours have elapsed (from the time the key was checked out), the person who checked out the key will be fined according to the overdue fines policy for four-hour reserve materials as stated in the library’s Overdue Materials and Fines policy (http://lib.sdstate.edu/AbouttheLibrary/overduematerials.html)

  • Fines for an overdue key will continue to accrue until the key is returned to the Circulation Desk or until the fines reach the maximum fine limit for reserve materials.

  • The person who checked out the key will be held responsible for all fines accrued up to the maximum fine limit for reserve materials.

If a group that has reserved a room does not show at the reservation time, the room reservation will be held for them for 15 minutes.  After that the reservation will be canceled and any group may use the room.
