Greetings from the Dean of Libraries

On behalf of everyone at Briggs Library, welcome to the 2008 spring and summer terms. I especially want to send greetings to students, faculty, and staff who are recent arrivals to SDSU.  Like you, I am relatively new to the Jackrabbit community.   In July 2007 I traded the University of Colorado at Denver for the smaller but equally challenging world of Brookings and SDSU. 

If you haven’t visited your library recently, you’ll find many improvements when you enter our doors this year—whether the doorways are on our building or on our web pages.   These include . . .

• more print and electronic resources
• upgraded computers
• laptops on loan
• a graduate student lab
• friendlier library web pages
• wireless printing
• and ILLiad, an easy way to borrow materials from other libraries. 

For 2008 we’ll continue to improve our services by making the library building a more comfortable place in which to meet and study.
